325 Fairground Street - DFCS Project
We would like to take this opportunity to share a new project, that is near and dear to our hearts, we are calling it the 325 Fairground Street, DFCS Project
Carmen Nance, Cobb County Deputy Director of the Georgia Division of Family & Children Services (DFCS) reached out to Dori Phelps Fantaski of Crea’tif Method Design in early March. DFACS was interested in updating the artwork and decor at the 325 Fairground Street building in Marietta, Ga.
The objective is to promote a positive and uplifting work environment in the offices. Unfortunately, these offices haven’t been updated in over 30 years.
Carmen asked if Dori knew of any resources, interior designers or groups that would be willing to volunteer their time and coordinate efforts to link resources/artwork and other decor assistance.
Dori has always been drawn to DFCS, as she considered adoption and fostering many years ago. She immediately and enthusiastically accepted the challenge, and Dori of Crea’tif promptly went to work!
Crea’tif has put together a design concept, color palette, and motivational theme, per area of the Administrative section of the first floor. We are referring to this first stage of the DFCS design project as “Phase One.
325 FAIRGROUND STREET
As you enter the Admin Area of Cobb County DFCS through the elevator, you will be greeted with sunshine and fresh air…because we have Opened the Windows and Opened the Doors!! We have let the Sunshine In!
Sometimes inspiration comes from a Single Ray of Sunshine!
When meeting in the First Floor Training Room, you will be inspired by the Motivational Artwork combined with Photographs taken at Kennesaw Mountain.
You will be ready to “Climb Every Mountain…Fiord Every Stream…Follow Every Rainbow…’Till you Find Your Dream.”
As you venture down the hallway towards the Admin Offices, you are surrounded by “Destination” art. Welcome to the “Destination Gallery” The theme being “I Don’t Care How You Get Here…Just Get Here if You Can.”
“One’s destination is never a place, but a new way of seeing things.” Henry Miller
While waiting to meet with a member of the Admin Team, you will be relaxing in a lovely, homelike atmosphere, in the Admin Waiting Room. In fact, it’s A Pretty Place to Sit and Wait
When entering through the CPS Employee Entrance, you can feast your eyes on an assortment of interesting pieces, and colors.
While strolling down the CPS hallway, you will be amazed by the collection of art relating to Speaking, Seeing and Hearing. You have just entered the “Communication Gallery” where we “Speak Kindly…Look for Beauty…Listen for Truth.” Ajp|
Mark Twain said that “Kindness is a language which the deaf can hear and the blind can see.”
Last, but not least is the Admin Office Hallway. We have transformed this hallway into a Garden Path.
As the saying goes, “An hour in the Garden puts Life’s Problems in Perspective.”
Bear in mind that this entire concept is just that…conceptual. We have no intention of copying any artwork used in the 325 Fairground Street concept.
The vision conceived by Dori Phelps Fantaski of Crea’tif is simply to inspire. This concept is to create a visual of what Dori envisions.
The images on the 325 Fairground Street pages have been taken from Pinterest, Grandin Road, Home Depot and Wayfair.
The color pallette was very deliberately chosen by Dori.
Orange is a youthful color that is playful and spirited. Orange is associated with joy, warmth, heat, sunshine, determination and balance. According to Answers.com Orange means joy in life and smiles!
Blue is the color of the sky, and is a cool and calming color. Blue symbolizes trust, loyalty, wisdom, confidence, intelligence, faith and truth.
Yellow is truly a joyous and radiant color. It exudes warmth, inspiration and vitality. Yellow signifies communication, enlightenment, sunlight and spirituality.
Beige or Taupe is considered dependable, conservative and flexible. It is a neutral, relaxing, and calming color.
“Color is a power which directly influences the soul.” Wassily Kandinsky
